I've only used OpenGameArt.org previously, and would certainly recommend them....it's always good to see other options so I'll look forward to checking them out - thanks for taking the time to post the link.....

Search for free  items at Turbosquid (http://www.turbosquid.com/).
also Googles 3Dwarhouse (http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/)   for Sketchup (http://www.sketchup.com/)
I pulled a full blown Blood Gulch with tanks,hogs and spartans from there  one day years ago.

OpenClipart.org (http://openclipart.org/search/?query=game) has is a treasure trove of quality royalty free game and application design assets.
