« on: December 29, 2012, 01:40:54 PM »
Cyb ...you know that i like to use any programming tool which have own IDE (editor)..
First of all current editor look nice but i think that you really need to add tabs.
Currently user must always remove old code and load new one...right?
2. Why is prefered file path \Documents and Setings every time when i open file.
let windows to remember last opend folder...ok...
3.List of used functions will be good adddition to,right?

Changing the IDE is on lowest priority. Soon version 1.6.0 will be out and then I will concentrate on making games. There will be probably no new version of EGSL for a very long time after that.

At the moment the best alternative is Geany. EGSL keywords are fully supported. It comes with syntax highlighting, code folding, a sidebar with functions listed and many more, but is still very light and easy to use.

Yes, I would recommend Geany for those who are not satisfied with the EGSL editor since it works for Linux and Windows. For MacOS I would recommend Smultron/Fraise. For Haiku, well, there is the third party editor made with yab or use Styled which is shipped with Haiku by default.

To make Geany fully support EGSL keywords, the default filetypes.lua file needs to be replaced with the new modified one that is attached to this post. Just unpack it and place where Geany keeps configuration files on your computer.

Did you forget that i hate Geany  >:(
But if someone like it...Geany can be ok... ::)
I already have NaaLaa editor and i will add syntax for EGSL and
that is fine for me.

And i found this one, wich you can extend with Lua coding:

I didn't. ;D I also remember your main argument - "it's freakin". Of course, I still have no idea what you meant by that. ???

But if someone like it...Geany can be ok... ::)

Thanx for your blessing. :-*

We are all happy that it's fine for you. Sometimes I think that reinventing the wheel is one of your favourite things to do...

I have nothing against NaaLaa editor but it was meant for NaaLaa and making it work with EGSL is a bit crazy idea... Hey Aurel, what about IDLE? :D

Yes..reinventing the wheel is one of my favorite thing... ;D
I still cannot figured - what is so fantastic to u about this ugly Geany :o :o :o
When i run Geany i feel like a Luit Linux user...grrrr   ;D

What is wrong with that if i add to my NaaLaa editor that work with EGSL :o
By the way i use same editor for FreeBasic-Oxygen Basic ( of course compiler paths are
configured).

IDLE....sounds funny  ;)
Hey what about wxLua editor...it looks fine for me, and maybe work on your Mint to. 8)
