But don't be mislead by the word "toy" in Ed's case. What you suggest here is like a nursery rattle toy

and you've got to have a driver's license to know exactly what you're in for when opening up Ed's sources.

Ed's one may be a "toy" for his inquisitive mind but for others it may remain a mystery behind seven magic seals forever. Ed's "toy" implements the top notch in contemporary interpretation techniques and would run its input probably 50 times faster than 95% of other popular BASIC implementations you're using.

Perhaps what Ed would consider a "toy" is even way ahead of modern 64-bit technology yet because, as he himself says, his toy sources would not yet compile in 64-bit environments they are meant for. :D
