Tomaaz might let you if they are still being actively developed.  ;D

Wrong. Like I already said - this rule doesn't apply to retro computing. I think it's time to consider changing your username to A(urel)+.   ;D

Hmm
how to say...(Y)
is there a reason to know what OS we use?
everyone use what he like or feel comfortable with OS.
For example i like to use from time to time small linux distros or just try them.
Currntly i just have Wifi-Slax instaled on one older computer.
Primary OS is of course Win7.

I must try this one:
Bottom line

During our tests, Q4OS proved to be a fast, responsive and stable Linux-based operating system that runs well on low-end machines. It is the perfect Linux OS for Windows XP users!

Yes, there is. It's called "curiosity";)

Try BunsenLabs Linux. It's great. Fast, lightweight but with all the power of Debian.

Primary OS is of course Win7.

Stick with it as long as you can. Much better than Win 10.

  • Windows 7 / 10 on different laptops
  • MacOs on iMac
  • iOS on iPad
  • Android on different tablets

I looked at installing puppy Linux on an old laptop but I didn't have a lot of time or patience at the time so gave up and never went back to it...

The result is a bit surprising. I was expecting it to be 50/50, but it looks like Windows easily "wins". Aurel must be delighted. ;)

Puppy Linux it's not meant to be your main system (it always runs as "root", for example), but as a distro for USB stick is pretty unbeatable. Try Linux Mint for your main machine.

My main development machine is Win10, because that's what I need for work. I run a couple of macs here, for testing purposes. Linux Mint for shits 'n' giggles. Oh, and a very, very fast Amiga running WB3.1 that I use for games mostly, and some pixel art/soundtracker.

Ok, I'll try and install Linux Mint

I'll second using Mint, though I started with Cinnamon and then moved up to KDE when it inevitably died a death. Somewhat surprisingly, the KDE box is still going strong though it probably needs to be reinstalled as it's starting to slow down now.

Aurel, I'm the one who told you about BunsenLabs. Have you tried it or you just hate Mint's popularity? Both distros are very good, but they are different. I like BunsenLabs, because it's minimalistic and lightweight, but I'm pretty sure that for 90% users it's to minimalistic. Mint, on the other hand, is a fully featured distro. You can't  explain which is better in one simple sentence.
