GDPR
« on: May 04, 2019, 04:50:52 PM »
I was seriously considering starting a forum about hobby programming, but after reading about GDPR I simply gave up. While I totally agree that it makes sense in case of big companies or business in general, I can't understand why the same regulation applies to personal/hobby sites. O course, it's possible to ignore the whole thing and hope that no one will ever complain or ask for anything related to GDPR, but I'm not gonna take any risks.  I know that a few members here run their own forums (including this place). Do you care about GDPR?

if that is true then Google and Facebook are in big trouble...

No, they aren't. Is this the first time you hear about GDPR???

you need email address is you wish open hosting... ::)

I know, but it's not the kind of hosting I was thinking about.  ;D

maybe i can give you one of mine... ;D

Thank you, but you must have paid a fortune for those fantastic domains. Even Google and Facebook can't afford facebook.mipropia/smf/ or google.info8-hosting.info/Upload/, so how possibly could I?

I started this topic with a simple question about GDPR. Three posts later it's all about me. I'm a "smart freak with SUPER smart philosophy who lives in the clouds and land once on the ground". Does anybody even know what that's supossed to mean? Also - people who decide to spend  £3.50 (three pounds and fifty pence) a month for a decent hosting are idiots who are wasting money. But they are not alone, because those who use Liberty Basic or Python Anaconda are also idiots. In another topic I said that this forum was dead. Unfortunately, that's only half of the problem. The other half is that, at the moment, every single thread is immediately destroyed by gibberish generated by a single user.

you are out of line, what about forum rule of not making defamatory statements?
up until this post of yours, I regarded you with respect, as someone that's intelligent and courteous

But you realize that that post is me expressing my view about Aurel's activity? Just read  his replies in Liberty Basic and Pyhon Anaconda topics. Plus all his posts here, where everything he writes is about me. I'm just repeating his words/opinions to show how bad the situation has become. I'm not calling anyone "idiot" - these are his words.

Aurel has a chronic habit of being rude, hence I avoid reading his posts.

Alas, he's the most active member here. I wish the forum had an option to block users from taking a part in a discussion, so I could ban Aurel from all my topics.
